Biology
Biologists are teachers in high school, 91ɬÂþ, and universities. They also work as conservationists, nutritionists, laboratory technicians, foresters, rangers, sanitarians, marine biologist and geneticist. Their working environment has as much variation as any career filed: classrooms, laboratories, forests, national or state parks, state or municipal offices, agricultural research stations, oceanographic vessels, museums, zoos, green houses, medical laboratories, hospitals, deserts, tropical rain forests, or even the cold of the arctic regions.
Business Administration
Our Business Administration degree at 91ɬÂþ prepares the business-oriented student for transfer to a four-year business, marketing, accounting, economics or finance program. Business Administration provides a core of general education courses plus specific business courses equivalent to those found in any first and second year business program. The following program is suggested for students intending to transfer following graduation. For best transfer, contact with the senior institution should be made as early in the program as possible.
Chemistry
Instruction in the Physical Sciences is offered in the areas of chemistry, physics, geology and astronomy as the foundation for Chemistry baccalaureate and graduate studies in these and related sciences at a university or four-year 91ɬÂþ. Physical Science students find employment in industrial research and development, government regulatory agencies, or secondary and post-secondary education. The suggested curriculum that follows assumes a mathematics background that will permit an enrollment in the calculus series as a freshman. If pre-calculus classes are needed, more than four semesters are necessary to complete this program.
Criminal Justice
The Criminal Justice Associate Degree program is designed to provide the student with the legal, technical, and practical aspects of criminal justice procedures. It will provide the student with opportunities for a career in law enforcement either as a civilian or a sworn in officer of the law. It will also provide for continued education in criminal justice, corrections, juvenile justice, and government or private security operations.
Early Childhood Development
Preschool teachers work with children 3, 4 and 5 years old in both privately and publicly funded institutions. Paraprofessionals help in classrooms or behavior support centers by providing specific assistance to the Classroom Teacher and many school districts are only hiring trained paraprofessionals.  Most jobs in these fields require a minimum of an Associate’s degree, this preschool/paraprofessional degree will prepare you to work in the field of education in many ways. The coursework will help you enter into a classroom knowing classroom management, lesson planning, how to identify special needs, and how to work and help different learners. Some school districts will even offer more pay to our graduates. Once you are ready to move on to your Bachelor’s degree you will be in line with the correct coursework, making your transition to a University smooth and efficient.

Math
A major in mathematics is designed for students planning to teach mathematics at the secondary school level as well as for those desiring to work as professional mathematicians outside of education. Students entering this program should enjoy working with logic and numbers and should enjoy the challenge to applying mathematics to the sciences and related areas. A bachelors degree is necessary as a minimum requirement for employment in these areas. Students with mathematics background which require pre-calculus courses may need to plan for more than four semesters to complete this program.
Paramedic
This program consists of five, eight-week 91ɬÂþ semesters totaling 42 credit hours. The first three eight-week blocks are completed in the classroom and laboratory setting. The fourth and fifth eight-week blocks include skills training and clinical internships.
Photography
In fall 2012, 91ɬÂþ began offering an Associate of Arts photography degree for those delving into this field as a career. There are several vocational options including photojournalism, fine arts, and commercial photography, which includes weddings, portraits, and product photography.
Physical Education
Most successful Physical Education majors have a strong interest in general health, physical fitness, and sports. A desire to work with young people in their overall development is essential for success in this field. Students who transfer and complete a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education can find job opportunities in teaching, coaching, recreation, athletic training, and health promotion and wellness. Students seeking teaching/coaching careers in public schools must meet state certification requirements. The following program is suggested for students who intend to transfer following graduation. Psychology
Obtaining an academic background in psychology offers skills which can be applied to almost every industry, especially those that involve influencing behavior. This includes marketing, sales, education, government work and social work. After completion of a baccalaureate degree, graduates can often find work with community support, law enforcement, sales, and administrative services.
Psychology – Autism Option
Students pursuing the Associates of Arts of Psychology-Autism Option have the benefit of obtaining the Behavior Technician Certificate in 2 semesters, then continuing in their coursework to complete the AA degree. Please use this as a general guide to our program requirements. It is a very good practice to check with a Teacher Education advisor every semester as you plan enrollment.
